This class is especially for anyone who loves McDonald’s and Burger King or would like an ideal father’s day gift. Who wouldn’t like a burger cake with chips on the side? You will learn how to carve and shape your sponge base (for our younger students we will provide a round base). We will show you how to split, jam and crumb coat the sponge base in preparation for the sugarpaste coating. You will learn how to make chocolate marshmallow burgers, with modelling paste lettuce, tomatoes and red onion slices to fill your burger bun. We will show you how to achieve a perfect covered bun, embellished with sugar sesame seed topper. To complete this masterpiece, we will explore the world of tomatoe ketchup and chocolate mayonnaise to dip your perfectly finished chips.
This class is open to any cake enthusiast above 13 years old.
This course is held in our new teaching facility The Studio. Free Car parking is available very nearby. We are situated within yards of the local bus station and taxi rank, with only a five-minute walk to Atherstone train station (with an hourly service seven-days-a-week to most locations including London and Crewe). Based in the heart of the Midlands Atherstone is on the main A5 national route and close to the M42 motorway, allowing easy access to Birmingham Airport. The Studio offers an informal relaxed atmosphere and as we only cater for small numbers, it ensures you will get a very close and personal teaching experience. You need to bring an apron, any cold drinks or specialty tea or coffee and lunch. We are suggesting students vacate the premises at lunch time to get some fresh air
Due to Government guide lines and to keep overheads down we ask that students bring Antibacterial wipes or spray and kitchen roll. Face Mask
This course provides six hours tuition and everything you need to make the cake including the sponge base, jam, buttercream and sugarpaste. We will provide everything else necessary and the use of all sugarcraft tools and equipment.
