This Children’s Fathers Day Novelty Cake Class is especially for our younger students aged 13 and above, but adults will be able to enrol. You will learn how to carve and shape your sponge base. We will show you how to split, jam and crumb coat the sponge base in preparation for the sugarpaste coating. You will learn how to use crimpers and frill sugar paste to produce this simple but effective armchair. You will discover the world of modeling and produce a male model. Completing the cake, we will add cushions and a newspaper. We hope you like this cake and think it the ideal gift for your Father.
This course is held in our new teaching facility The Studio. Free Car parking is available very nearby. We are situated within yards of the local bus station and taxi rank, with only a five-minute walk to Atherstone train station (with an hourly service seven-days-a-week to most locations including London and Crewe). Based in the heart of the Midlands Atherstone is on the main A5 national route and close to the M42 motorway, allowing easy access to Birmingham Airport. The Studio offers an informal relaxed atmosphere and as we only cater for small numbers, it ensures you will get a very close and personal teaching experience. Please note students will not be allowed off the premises at any time and must be brought and collected from The Studio by a responsible known adult.
This course provides six hours tuition and everything you need to make the cake including the sponge base, jam, buttercream and sugarpaste. We will provide everything else necessary and the use of all sugarcraft tools and equipment.
You need to bring an apron, a box to take your project home and lunch.
