This Buttercream Side Elevation Piping Techniques Class is for students wanting to move into the world of buttercream. We will be demonstrating how to make ‘professional basic buttercream’ and discussing the easy ‘Swiss meringue’ buttercream method. In this class to keep cost minimal, students will be using our professional frosting to execute the tiered buttercream effect during the day. We will teach you how to prepare, cut, fill and cover your deep 6″ sponge cake so that they look professional. Whilst waiting for our smooth crumb coat to crust, we will colour our buttercream and start to cover a variety of sized polystyrene balls with sugar paste. We will continue the day, executing the tiered buttercream effect. To complete the effect we will be adding our cascading balls and finally adding a gold edge. You will be able to make your masterpiece personalised by adding sprinkles and will be shown the splatter effect.

This course is held in our new teaching facility The Studio. Free Car parking is available very nearby. We are situated within yards of the local bus station and taxi rank, with only a five-minute walk to Atherstone train station (with an hourly service seven-days-a-week to most locations including London and Crewe). Based in the heart of the Midlands Atherstone is on the main A5 national route and close to the M42 motorway, allowing easy access to Birmingham Airport. The Studio offers an informal relaxed atmosphere and as we only cater for small numbers, it ensures you will get a very close and personal teaching experience. The course price includes everything you need to decorate your cake and even the box to take it home. We will provide all the ingredients, materials, use of all sugarcraft tools, equipment and refreshments. If you have a turn table we ask that you bring that with you.
